Our investigator friends Mike and Marlene Sternisha went with us to Palmyra last Saturday.  We had a picnic on Hill Cumorah, took the tour there, then drove to the Smith Farm, had the tour there too, then spent some time in the Sacred Grove.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.  We're hoping the Sternishas continue to feel the spirit and progress in their lives towards the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We are giving them missionary lessons each week on Wednesdays.

Today has been spent working on materials for the branch missionary training tomorrow night.  Ten missionaries have been called to help us in an effort to contact the 146 members of our Branch not receiving home teachers at this time.  It's an ambitious endeavor.  We will be helping branch missionaries with this assignment and also continue visiting inactive branch members.

Ready for Branch visiting

Getting acquainted with inactive branch members has been a top priority since arriving.  Here we are, dressed and ready to face another day of teaching.  People we are visiting are generally pleasant and receptive.  We have learned a lot in the past few weeks and continue to work at helping wherever help is needed.

Father's Day at the Campbells

Brother and Sister Campbell do their best to feed the missionaries.  We were at their house for Father's Day, enjoying grilled steaks on their beautiful patio with them and the Atkinsons (temple missionaries who visit our branch on the weekend).  The weather was beautiful and the food incredible.  Later on that day Elder Jeppesen visited by phone with our children, so it was an especially nice Father's Day all around.

One of the best things about being in New York is being close enough to Jeff's family to get together.  We had an incredible weekend with them staying in a farmhouse in the Cattskills.  We rode a train, climbed to the top of a huge waterfall, ate in some great restaurants and just hung out.  Things can't get much better!
